Ananda Central College is situated in Galle District, Elpitiya. It consists of over 4000 students and a staff of about 130 teachers.

Ananda Central College was founded[when?] after the Japanese dropped bombs on Colombo 5 April 1942.[citation needed]

G/Ananda Central College & G/Karandeniya Central College have begun a inter school cricketmatch "දක්ෂිණ කෙසරුන්ගේ සටන" (Battle of southern Lions) from 31st march 2010 onwords.
